President-elect Donald Trump is in Texas this afternoon to attend the SpaceX launch.

“I’m going to the Great State of Texas to watch the launch of the largest object ever lifted, not just into space, but simply by lifting it off the ground,” Trump wrote in an earlier post on his social media platform Truth . Social.

“Good luck to Elon Musk and the Great Patriots involved in this incredible project!”

SpaceX’s Starship rocket will launch its sixth test flight into space Tuesday evening just before sunset.

“Honoured to have President @realDonaldTrump at our spaceship launch!” Musk wrote in a post on X.

Trump and Musk greeted each other upon the president-elect’s arrival and were seen in the control room.

Fox News was briefly allowed into the control room with the duo where Trump was with Musk and a group including Donald Trump Jr. talked about the rocket and its launch.

Fox reported that they watched a video showing the simulation versus reality of the rocket launch.

Trump also told Musk that they were still counting votes in Pennsylvania, to which Musk responded that it was “absurd.”

The Federal Aviation Administration issued “Temporary Flight Restrictions for VIP Movements” over Brownsville, Texas on Monday.

During that same time frame, flight restrictions on Trump’s properties in Palm Beach, Florida will be temporarily lifted.

In the context of the Artemis programme NASA plans to do that too According to Reuters, Starship will be used to land humans on the moon this decade.

Musk, who founded SpaceX in 2002, became Trump’s top donor during the 2024 election. He officially endorsed Trump over the summer, when the 45th and soon-to-be 47th president survived the first assassination attempt.

He then joined the campaign trail, particularly in the key battleground state of Pennsylvania.

Musk appeared ringside with Trump, Kid Rock and others this weekend to attend a UFC event at Madison Square Garden.

Alongside Vivek Ramaswamy, Musk will co-head the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to reduce wasteful government spending during Trump’s second term.
