Tuesday, November 19 marked the start of the play-offs The voice with the top five of Team Gwen. Unfortunately, Stefani could only choose two to take to the live shows.

In the episode, Stefani, 55, brought in mgk (aka Machine Gun Kelly) as her playoff advisor. Together they rehearsed with every remaining participant.

The first performance was by Jose Luis, who sang a rendition of Mary J. Blige’s “No More Drama.”

Next, Jake Tankersley took the stage for a performance of Cody Johnson’s “The Painter.” After his performance, he began to think emotionally about his wife.

Following Tankersley was Gabrielle Zabosky, who performed an emotional performance of Roxette’s “Listen to Your Heart.”

Jan Dan then sang Kansas’ “Dust in the Wind,” which brought Stefani to tears with the performance

The final performance was by Sydney Sterlace, who chose to sing Taylor Swift’s “Betty.” Afterward, coach Michael Bublé called her a “superstar.”

When it came time for Stefani to make her decision, all five contestants were called to the stage.

“I’m proud, and I’m honored that you all let me hang out with you and help you. This is really hard. One thing that saves me all the time is that we all go home and do this. is just a moment in your life,” the “Just a Girl” singer said.

She added: “Whatever you do with this moment, it will be the next part of your life. That gives me comfort. I go to whoever I think I can coach and help me grow into that identity that they already show me see what they have.”

Stefani became emotional and expressed that she was “so proud” to be their coach – and she learned “something from each” member of her team. She then announced her decision.

“The first person I choose from Team Gwen is Jan Dan,” she said.

In a one-on-one, Stefani opened up about the decision.

“This decision was super hard for me. I had to choose Jan Dan. He’s ordinary, he’s too unique. He has so much taste and he has such perspective that I just wanted to give him the opportunity to do that with America in the future to share.” alive,” she said.

As a second choice, Stefani chose “the one that really touches me and that I think I can coach.”

That was Sterlace. “I had to go with Sydney. It was just a gut feeling. She moves me. She steps on that stage and I want to see more… I just can’t let her go home,” Stefani concluded. “These playoffs are just so emotional.”
