How to Train Your Dragon live-action film unveils first trailer

Get ready to roar with nostalgia.

Almost 15 years after the release of How to train your dragon-with voice actors from Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill And Kristen Wiig– the beloved animated story returns to the big screen as a reimagined live-action epic.

In the first teaser trailer released on November 19, Viking chief Stoick the Vast – played by Butler, reprising his role from the computer-animated franchise – urged his lukewarm son Hiccup to follow in his mighty footsteps.

“When you carry this axe, you carry us all with you,” he told the boy, who nervously replied, “Daddy, I can’t kill dragons.”

Then the young misfit, played by Mason ThamesWhen they encountered an injured dragon and struggled to kill the winged creature, the two instead formed an unlikely friendship.

“It’s okay,” he reassured the beast, “I won’t hurt you.”

The original 2010 animated film based on the book series by Cressida Cowellspawned a media franchise including two theatrical sequels, three television series, and several television short films.
