If you’re completely lost or desperately trying to secure your most streamed artist for Wrapped, here’s everything you need to know.

What is Spotify Wrapped?

At Spotify Wrapped, the music giant bundles the listening habits of the past year into brightly colored, shareable infographics. It reveals your top songs, artists and genres, as well as a few gimmicks that vary from year to year. Plus, you get a playlist with your 100 best songs of the year.

When does Spotify wrap up?

The exact date is a surprise, but usually comes out the week after Thanksgiving.

When does Spotify Wrapped’s tracking period end?

The company is tight-lipped about when the tracking period will end, but insists it will be after Halloween – the speculative end date of the web tracking period.

During a 2022 press preview of Wrapped, Spotify’s vice president of product development, Babar Zafar, further explained: “Wrapped’s personalized experience includes streaming for 2022, so starting in January and ending a few weeks prior to launch on November 30. We aim aiming to leave the cutoff date as late as possible to truly create a truly personalized experience for the millions of listeners around the world.”

You no longer have access to Spotify Wrapped’s interactive view from past years, but you can listen to previous years’ playlists. These playlists are composed of the top 100 songs from each year.

How to remove music from your taste profile

Are you worried about how embarrassing your Spotify Wrapped will be? You’re in luck… for next year. You can delete a playlist from your “Taste Profile” and how the company defines your taste. Once you delete a playlist, it will take 48 hours for it to be deleted. If you exclude a playlist from your Taste Profile today, it won’t appear in your Wrapped for this year.

To remove a playlist from your Taste profile, open Spotify and navigate to the playlist you want to exclude. Then tap the three gray dots and select ‘exclude from your flavor profile’.
