Wednesday’s NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions: Donovan Mitchell, Trae Young, Alperen Sengun (11/20)

Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s latest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and it delivered. We’ll break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular full-season fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space we’ll talk about strategy for the new platform while giving our favorite NBA over/under picks.

NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (11/20)

Donovan Mitchell (G – CLE): 5.5 1st quarter

Donovan missed his first quarter point last night and managed just four points in the first quarter against the defending champion Boston Celtics. He should be much better tonight against New Orleans and should be able to score at least six points if he comes out aggressive as usual. Donovan has been a tone-setter for the Cavs this season, averaging eight first-quarter points per game. He has scored six or more first-quarter points in eight of his last 12 games and should hit the mark tonight against a New Orleans team he dropped seven in the opening frame earlier this month. Dap the More on Donovan for Wednesday night basketball.

Trae Young (G – ATL): 7.5 assists

The jump from 6.5 assists to 7.5 is a probability killer, but still provides plenty of value for being an alt line. Ice Trae went crazy with a season-high 19 assists his last time out, so the increase isn’t unexpected, but there’s still a significant difference between 6.5 and 7.5 even when it comes to Trae Young. Trae is averaging 11.6 assists per game and has recorded eight or more assists in 13 of his 14 games played. He’s in prime position to earn at least eight dimes tonight against a Warriors team that is giving up 8.6 assists per game to opposing point guards. Tap More on Trae for Wednesday night at Sleeper Picks.

Alperen Sengun (C – HOU): 3.5 assists

Sengun has taken a step back this season, but is still averaging 17.5 points, 11.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.4 blocks per game on .468 shooting. The percentage is career low, so Sengun has a chance to get his points back up in the neighborhood we saw during his breakout campaign last season. Assist numbers have remained steady (5.0 assists per game in 2023-24) and Sengun has recorded at least four assists in 10 of his last 12 games. Outside of his recent four-game stint, there is absolutely no reason to put the actual total at 5.5 instead of 4.5. Take the alt line and hit the More on Sengun for Wednesday night’s action.

Writers note: The rules are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there’s a good chance that one or all of the numbers will no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could literally yield a solid return on investment this season.
