Reddit is currently down for many users, who are experiencing an “upstream connect error” message and infinite loading times when they try to visit the site.

Reddit outage reports spiked heavily on IGN’s sister site Downdetector just after noon PT and continue to impact usage. Reddit acknowledged the issue on X/Twitter and says it is currently investigating.

Reddit isn’t the only social media site experiencing problems lately. Bluesky is also struggling with error messages and slow loading times amid a surge in users.
