The Golden State Warriors have seen three of their last five games go above the combined 240-point mark. Tonight’s home game against the Atlanta Hawks should have a great chance to follow suit. The visitors have had real problems stopping opponents from scoring and sit 22nd in the defensive rankings this season. Trae Young remains a liability there for Stephen Curry and Buddy Hield to exploit. After all, the Warriors are fifth in the league in offensive class. With both teams in the top 5 of the NBA in terms of pace, there should be no shortage of possessions for either.

Part of the defensive problem for the Hawks is the fact that they have trouble controlling the ball. They currently rank 27th in opponent points off turnovers. The hosts were great going forward and ranked 5th in fast break points per game. They should be ready to turn the Hawks’ turnovers into scoring opportunities in transition. No team allows more three-pointers per game than tonight’s visitors. That’s a dangerous situation for them, especially when they’re going up against one of the best backcourts the NBA has ever seen, with Curry and Hield taking the court. Back the over as a result.
