A shelter is in place at the Fairleigh Dickinson University campus in Florham amid reports of a person with a gun, the school announced.

At 10:45 p.m., FDU tweeted: “Police are investigating an incident on Florham Campus.”

At 10:59 p.m., the school announced that a shelter in place was in place, adding: “Stay inside the building, away from windows and doors. If outside, seek shelter immediately. Remain in place until a complete clear message is sent through the FDU warning system.”

At 11:29 p.m., FDU stated that the shelter remains in place and that “police are on patrol looking for an individual who may be in possession of a weapon.”
