Heavy snowfall, between 15 and 30 centimeters, can be expected, with wind gusts up to 65 km/h. Areas affected include the upper parts of Fayette and Westmoreland counties, as well as the eastern part of Preston County and the western part of Tucker County.

“The highest snowfall rates will likely be late Thursday evening and early Friday morning for affected Pennsylvania counties, and during the day Friday for affected West Virginia counties. Most snow accumulations will end Friday evening, except for eastern Tucker County, where snow and light will fall. Freezing drizzle may continue through Saturday,” an NWS warning said.

The National Weather Service says roads, bridges and overpasses are likely to become slippery and dangerous. These conditions may impact commutes on Thursday evenings and Friday mornings.
