Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi moves to England after Donald Trump’s election victory: report

Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, have packed up and moved to Britain following Donald Trump’s election victory earlier this month, a report has revealed.

The comedian, 66, and the “Arrested Development” alum, 51, are gearing up to put their sprawling Montecito, California, mansion on the market in an effort to make a fresh start abroad, sources told The Wrap .

The couple, who married in 2008, will likely “never” return to the US permanently, the insider adds.

Separate sources told TMZ that the duo decided to “leave the country” immediately after the president-elect’s victory over Kamala Harris, leaving them feeling “very disillusioned.”

The former talk show host has been vocal about her support for Harris — and even reportedly donated $3,300 to the vice president’s campaign.

In August, DeGeneres publicly supported Harris on Instagram.

“There is nothing more powerful than a woman whose time has come!! I can’t wait for @KamalaHarris to be our next president,” she captioned her post.

DeGeneres, who reportedly has an eye-watering net worth of $370 million, has had an extensive real estate portfolio over the years.

Her most recent home purchase was in Montecito, which she and De Rossi purchased in 2019 for $27 million. The duo lived next door to their good friends Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The couple now reportedly live in the Cotswolds in south-west England – almost a two-hour drive from London.

The Post has reached out to representatives for DeGeneres and de Rossi for comment.

It’s no surprise that it costs a pretty penny to live in the area. The couple will boast a host of famous neighbors including David and Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, Elizabeth Hurley and Jeremy Clarkson.

The area is also home to royal families, as King Charles and Queen Camilla own Highgrove House in Gloucestershire.

And it looks like the ‘Finding Nemo’ star and her wife have already settled into their new lives in Britain.

Last week the duo were spotted visiting Clarkson’s pub, The Farmer’s Dog, located in the area.

In a clip shared to Instagram by Lisa Hogan, the former ‘Top Gear’ presenter’s girlfriend, the couple were seen sipping drinks while enjoying live music in the rustic pub.

DeGeneres is the second celebrity to flee the US following Trump’s victory.

Last week, Eva Longoria said she and her family left the “dystopian” US for a better life in Mexico and Spain.

“I’ve spent my entire adult life here,” the “Desperate Housewives” alum told Marie Claire. “But even before the pandemic, it was changing. The atmosphere was different. And then COVID happened, and it pushed it over the edge.”

“Whether it’s the homelessness or the taxes, it’s not that I want to sit on California — it just feels like this chapter in my life is over now,” she added.

While homelessness and taxes in California occurred under Democratic rule, the 49-year-old actress conversely said Trump’s victory was also a reason to leave.

“The shocking thing is not that he won,” said Longoria, who spent the summer volunteering to rally voters for Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz. “It’s that a convicted criminal who radiates so much hate can hold the highest office.”

“If he keeps his promises, it’s going to be a scary place,” she said, recalling how depressed she felt after Trump’s 2016 victory.
