PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Snow covers the field during the Pittsburgh Steelers game against the Cleveland Browns at Huntington Bank Field on Thursday night in Cleveland, Ohio.

The snow picked up again midway through the third quarter of Thursday’s game, leading to near-white conditions. The buildup covers the field and makes the marks difficult to see.

The stadium crew uses shovels to clear the field during stoppages in play, and the broadcast enabled virtual lines and hashmarks on the field so viewers at home could see the markings.

Snow continues to fall in the Cleveland area and is expected to continue through the night. The National Weather Service Cleveland said Cuyahoga and Lake counties are under a snow warning due to lake effect.

“Snow is expected to slowly taper off after midnight. An additional 1 to 3 inches of wet snow is possible,” NWS Cleveland told X.

The National Weather Service Cleveland said the “lake effect band has the potential to produce snow rates in excess of an inch per hour.”

Cleveland leads Pittsburgh 10-6 after three quarters of play.
