Kai Cenat has found a Twitch streamer who has been live 24 hours a day for the past THREE YEARS

I won’t pretend to fully understand the Twitch/streaming world, nor do I really know who Kai Cenat is. I know he’s a streamer, a popular one at that, because I see him on my Twitter For You page, but besides that, I don’t know what he does, what he’s good at, what makes him so popular and famous, etc. I just know that any 13 year old would give me a wedgie for that last sentence, just as I would be disgusted with them for not knowing every word of Enema of the State. Different eras of famous people, indeed.

But Kai Cenat meeting a woman who has been livestreaming herself every day for three years is such bananas land that I spit out my coffee and didn’t even drink anything like you read. I have SO MANY questions. First of all, after about a year of live streaming herself and no one noticing, wouldn’t that be enough? I feel like if you were good at it, someone would have noticed you after 365 days of straight live streaming. I’m not saying she should completely give up the passion and love for Twitch streaming, but maybe also take a vacation, go to a spa, have a nice dinner with friends. To go online for three years straight and turn yourself into the Truman Show is legitimately insane behavior. There’s a line between ‘love of the game’ and ‘crazy’, and she’s so far past that line that there’s not even a tiny speck in the distance anymore. And I’m not trying to be “a hater”, I simply can’t comprehend the levels of weirdness. Call me old fashioned, but I think our society has become so overly obsessed with fame and attention that it has completely torpedoed its normal life for a chance at fame. Like making real relationships! See a sun rise! Volunteer at the retirement home! Sitting at home and playing Minecraft for three years is no way to make a living from this marble.

But the funniest part for me? Kai didn’t say “we need to hire you” or “let’s put you on 60 Minutes”… he said hopefully she can be nominated for a Streamer Award. Lmao. Do you understand what I’m saying now? Like… she spent three years of her life streaming and the best streamer in the world says, “Yeah, maybe we can get you nominated for a fake award that doesn’t really mean anything.”

Look, if it makes her happy, great. I don’t want to take that away from her. Everyone finds happiness in strange things. You, me, your grandma, everyone. But to be so obsessed with fame that you turn your life into a reality show that only a few people watch, come on. That’s not alive. Hopefully she gets on her sailboat and heads towards the wall. We believe in you! Get out while you still can!
