WEST VIRGINIA (WCHS) — Several provinces have announced delays for Friday due to winter weather conditions, officials said.

Schools in Mingo, Boone, Nicholas, Logan and Clay counties will have a two-hour delay Friday, while schools in Braxton County will be closed, the West Virginia Department of Education said.

The delays are expected as icy conditions are expected due to the drop in temperatures and snow that inundated parts of the state Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, Fayette, Wyoming, Webster and McDowell counties also saw delays, while Preston, Tucker and Marion announced school closures.
