Police have reportedly recovered Travis Kelce’s watch that was stolen during a home invasion

Police have reportedly recovered Travis Kelce’s watch after his home was burglarized last month.

Sources told ABC News on Friday, November 22, that authorities were able to recover the Kansas City Chiefs’ property after his home in Leawood, Kansas, was burglarized on October 7.

The watch was recovered in Providence, RI, by authorities investigating a recent series of home burglaries affecting high-profile athletes, the outlet reported.

Leawood police told PEOPLE they do not comment on the investigation.

The burglary of Kelce’s property occurred less than 48 hours after his teammate Patrick Mahomes’ home in Belton, Missouri, was also burglarized on Sunday, October 6.

According to the police, there are no indications that there was a burglary in the home.

Kelce’s home was also burglarized on Oct. 7 at 7:33 p.m., according to a police report obtained by PEOPLE. At the time of the burglary, the Chiefs were taking on the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Leawood police were called to the house at 1:36 a.m. the next morning, where they reported that $20,000 had been taken and that a back door was broken.

Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis’ home in River Hills, Wisconsin, was also burglarized earlier this month, police told ABC News.

Portis, 29, announced in a video on Instagram and the previous night.

According to ABC News and Fox 4 Kansas City, the recent home burglaries of high-profile athletes may be linked to a South American crime gang.

“Multiple law enforcement sources familiar with the investigations” told ABC News on Wednesday, November 20, that the burglaries may have been part of an international scheme.

The sources added that this was just “one of the possibilities” that investigators were looking at.

“You don’t want to leave out a local person,” said an insider, before adding that “it’s very easy to find out” where players were on Sunday.

According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the NFL sent a warning to team safety directors and the players’ union after the thefts.

A source close to the situation told Pelissero that the crime ring is “legitimate” and has “focused on ‘NBA and NFL players’ for the past three weeks.”

“And it’s all over the country,” the source added.
