Kendrick Lamar’s ‘GNX’ Album: Songs Ranked

K. Dot surprised the rap world with his latest offering on Friday (November 22).

Kendrick Lamar – rap’s undisputed MVP of 2024 – surprised fans on Friday (November 22) with the release of his GNX album.

The project went down around 12:00 PM ET seemingly without warning. Filled with 12 numbers, GNX features a few assists from former TDE running mate SZA, Sam Dew and emerging artists like Deyra Barrera, Ink, Dody 6, AzChike and more.

Rumor had it that Kendrick was making an album after the fight against Drake, and the Compton native dropped by. GNX follows Lamar’s Mr. Morale and the big steps in 2022, which topped the Billboard 200 with a total of 295,000 units earned in its first week.

Sounwave scores co-production credits on the entire project, with Jack Antonoff and Kamasi Washington also making appearances.

Lamar posted a teaser before the album hit streaming services with the clip featuring what appears to be a 1987 Buick Grand National Regal GNX, which inspired the album title.

With the Super Bowl on the horizon, K. Dot will have new music with him when he heads to New Orleans to take the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show stage in February.

Even before the album’s release, Lamar racked up seven Grammy Award nominations earlier this month, five of which were tied to his “Not Like Us” Drake diss. Check out the album and all twelve songs below, ranked from worst to best.
