Player of the game: David McComb. The Edmond Memorial and Kansas senior quarterback led an offense that scored 35 unanswered points after falling behind 14-7 in the second quarter. McComb was effective through the air, throwing one touchdown pass, but was especially valuable in the ground game as he rushed for three scores.

Top moment: While trailing 7-0, McComb hit senior receiver Billy McDown for a 43-yard touchdown pass on a flea flicker to get Edmond Memorial (9-2) on the scoreboard with 9:59 left in the second quarter. A well-designed play, perfectly executed by the Bulldogs and provided an early spark against Norman (10-2).

Edmond Memorial writes school history: Edmond Memorial advanced to the semifinals for the first time since Edmond became a multi-school district. This was the Bulldogs’ second playoff win since the split, with the other coming in 2009.
