The Central Board of the DEM party (MYK) has issued a written statement against the usurpation of the municipalities of Dersim and Pulur.

The statement read: “The AKP government has reaffirmed its coup mentality, against the will of the people, by appointing trustees for the municipalities of Dersim and Ovacık. These appointments of trustees are not merely the usurpation of municipalities; they are a clear attack on history. culture and values of the people. This intervention against a city like Dersim, a symbol of resistance and honor, is a senseless imposition of surrender against the will of the people, bow down and surrender to tyranny.”

The statement continued: “The removal of the freely elected representatives of the people is a usurpation of democratic politics. Trying to rule Dersim with trustees is an expression of fear against the people who have their say. Neither Dersim nor other cities can be governed by trustees. .

We hereby declare once again that the administrators will leave and that the will of the people will remain. We call on all democratic forces to stand together against this coup and the usurpation of the will. We will not get used to it, and you will never get our people used to accepting this oppression.”
