Middle Tennessee State football will look to improve to 3-4 in Conference USA play when the Blue Raiders host New Mexico State at Floyd Stadium on senior day Saturday (1:30 p.m., ESPN+).

The Blue Raiders (3-7, 2-4 Conference USA) lost 37-17 to Liberty two weeks ago. MTSU had an open date last week.

New Mexico State (2-8, 1-5) has lost three straight and eight of nine, including a 38-3 loss to Texas A&M last week. A 33-30 CUSA win over Louisiana Tech is the only win in that stretch.

The Blue Raiders cut the lead to 10-7 early in the quarter on a 3-yard TD run by Jaiden Credle, and MTSU looked to take the lead later in the period, but a 4th-and-1 QB sneak by Nick Vattiato was briefly spotted at NMS 35. After a challenge from MTSU, the call stood. The Aggies turned the break into a 26-yard field goal.

A rare interception by MTSU quarterback Nick Vattiato put the Blue Raiders in an early hole. Dylan Early picked off the Vattiato pass at the MTSU 30 and ran it for a touchdown. The Aggies also have a 42-yard field goal from Abraham Montano.
