Barcelona midfielder Gavi could not hide his frustration after watching his team throw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Celta on Saturday.

Gavi made his first start in a year at Balaidos and had his team on course for a 2-0 win until a late collapse meant Hansi Flick’s side had to settle for a point.

This is what he had to say afterwards:

“We had the match under control, but we got involved in two bad moves and we have to learn from that,” he told the media.

“The first goal was stupid. We have to clear the ball in that position, but that’s football. You have to learn.

“With one man less it is very difficult, not only against Celta and against any team. If you’re not focused, whatever can happen can happen.

“It’s my first start after a year. I am happy with that, but of course the aim was to get three points, but we did not achieve that.”

It is a disappointing evening for Barcelona and more loss of points for Flick’s team. They will be back in action against Brest in the Champions League in midweek.
