Who is the blonde Landman bombshell? Meet Michelle Randolph from the Yellowstone spin-off

When Landman debuted its first two episodes last week, one face stood out from the crowd.

It was the actress who played Billy Bob Thornton and Ali Larter’s sexually extroverted daughter Ainsley Norris in the Taylor Sheridan saga set amid the oil boom in West Texas’ Permian Basin.

The woman behind the 17-year-old bikini-clad babe is Michelle Randolph.

And if her pretty face looks familiar, it’s because the 27-year-old from Napa Valley, California has worked with Sheridan before.

That was Michelle as the reserved prairie woman Elizabeth Strafford in the 1923 prequel to Yellowstone. She worked opposite Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.

Randolph has also appeared in House Of The Witch, The Resort and A Snow White Christmas.

The star, who used to date Gregg Sulkin, said playing the uninhibited Ainsley was “refreshing.”

“I learned so much playing Ainsley,” she said, via LRM Online.

“She’s a wild 17-year-old and to step into that, it helped me embrace myself more and I found it really refreshing.”

Michelle described her character as a “very interesting medium between the two parents” and as she discovers that her parents are “flawed people”:

“Ainsley is, I think, a very interesting medium between the two parents, and she loves them both very much,” Michelle said.

“But she’s about to realize that they have flaws as people. It’s fun to see her on this journey this season to learn that her parents are flawed people too.”

Michelle also has a famous sibling.

She is the younger sister of The Bachelor season 23 winner Cassie Randolph.

Together they have a sustainable denim brand called LNDN Denim that they launched in 2022. Michelle told US Magazine that LNDN is actually an abbreviation of ‘Landon’, the younger brother of the two sisters.

When Magazine C asked why denim was used for the line, Michelle explained, “It’s all what people wear in California” and that it took the sisters “three years to perfect it.”

Landman revolves around Tommy Norris (Thornton) – a rough executive of the M-Tex Oil company in Texas.

The series premiere opens with a tied-up Tommy wearing a bag over his head as he discusses a lease with a cartel member.

He survives the intense exchange and continues to work under businessman Monty Miller (Hamm), while balancing relationships with his ex-wife Angela (Larter) and his children Ainsley (Randolph) and oilfield worker Cooper (Jacob Lofland).

The series premiere takes a dark turn after Cooper’s entire oil rig team is killed in an explosion.

Michelle’s Ainsley is as wild as she can get.

The teen takes her football star boyfriend to meet dad in West Texas.

She doesn’t mind telling her dad that they’ve already had sex all over the place, adding that he’s keeping her from getting pregnant – it’s rude and Tommy cringes.

Billy’s Tommy hates the man. And as predicted by pops, the athlete is a real dork.

Ainsley finds out and dumps him, and spends her afternoons sunbathing in her bikini by Dad’s pool, which is difficult for Tommy’s housemates.

Landman focuses on the Texas oil boom and how some of the biggest moguls in the business will use whatever means necessary to maintain their vast wealth.

The series is co-created by the man behind the Yellowstone universe, Sheridan, 53, and podcaster Christian Wallace.

Landman, like Yellowstone, is set in the present and is inspired by the popular podcast Boomtown, which describes an oil boom in west Texas in the 21st century.

The series’ logline describes it as “an up-and-down story of losers and wild billionaires fueling a boom so big it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics.”
