Warm start to Thanksgiving week before temperatures drop, rain and snow move in

Thanksgiving week is here, kicking off with the hottest day we’ll experience all holiday, with highs around 50 degrees.

That’s six degrees above our seasonal average, continuing our trend of mild weather.

Therefore, today’s low pressure and rising warm front will bring rain in the form of widespread showers.

Everything is changing as colder air pushes in as low pressure rises north. The region will start to feel this from Tuesday morning with lows in the low 30s before temperatures drop further on Wednesday.

That will be a day to reach for your winter coat, with lows dropping into the 20s. Although it took longer than before, Southeast Michigan is finally seeing frost.

As colder air moves in, a wintry mix may develop late Wednesday night, possibly continuing into early Thanksgiving morning. It will also remain windy all week, with a greater chance of snow on Sunday.
