The Knicks bounced back Monday night, defeating the Denver Nuggets 145-118 at Ball Arena.

Here are some takeaways…

– The Knicks were disappointed with their effort after their loss to the Utah Jazz on Saturday night, but they responded well and dominated the Nuggets from the opening tip. New York had a double-digit lead less than two minutes into the game and they never looked back.

– OG Anunoby has established himself as one of the best two-way players in the game this season and that was the case again this season. The small forward simply couldn’t miss, as he finished with a career-high 40 points on 16-of-23 shooting from the field and 5-of-7 from behind the arc, while pulling down five rebounds and four assists.

– Karl-Anthony Cities responded to one of his worst performances as a Knick with another strong performance. Even with the tough match against Nikola Jokicthe All-Star big man put together another double-double as he pulled down 14 rebounds and surpassed the 30-point mark for the seventh time this season.

– Jalen Brunson remains committed to this high-powered offense as he set a new career-high with 17 assists and 23 points on the night. New York also set new franchise records for assists in a half (23) and total game (45).

– Of Jos Hart in foul trouble and the late lead, Miles McBride saw a lengthy run off the bench in his first game back from a five-game absence with a left knee injury. The backup shooting guard shook off some early rust and finished with 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field.

– Even with Deuce back in the mix, veteran point guard Cam Payne continued his strong play off the bench, dishing out five assists and knocking down a pair of threes of his own to help him finish with 11 points.

Game MVP: OG Anunoby

Chants of “OG” often rained down in Denver as the small forward put together one of his best offensive performances as a Knick, finishing with a career-high 40 points.
