Say it isn’t so!

The holiday star Judas Law just dropped a huge bombshell about the iconic holiday movie. More specifically, that dreamy chalet Cameron Diaz‘s character, Amanda Woods, trades her Los Angeles notebook for.

During a performance op The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Britain’s BBC Radio 2 on Friday, November 22, Law, 51, was asked if the Surrey cottage is available for fans to rent on Airbnb. And, well, brace yourself.

“That house doesn’t exist,” the British actor said, to shocked gasps from the host Zoe Ball and fellow guest, comedian Kerry Godliman.

“What?!” Ball and Godliman expressed their shock, prompting Law to reveal the behind-the-scenes deception used to shoot the scenes between Amanda and his character, Graham Simpkins, in the cozy cottage.

“So the director (Nancy Meijers), she is a bit of a perfectionist,” Law explains. “(She) toured the whole area and didn’t quite find the chocolate box house she was looking for, so she just rented a field, drew it and had someone build it.”

Law continued to crush fans’ dreams by revealing the winter scenes weren’t even filmed in Britain

Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet were already hugely famous before starring in The Holiday, but the 2006 film is still one of their most beloved projects (for good reason). The Nancy Meyers-directed film follows two unhappy women who swap homes during the holidays. Of course romance arises for Amanda (Diaz) and Iris (Winslet) (…)

“But the funny thing is, when you look at it… so we shot the movie here (in Britain) in the winter,” the actor said. “And every time I went through that door, we were cutting and shooting the interiors in LA about three months later.”

It was a revelation too far for Ball and Godliman, who urged Law to stop speaking. “We can’t bear it!” Ball joked.

‘Just burst the bubble. Sorry!” Law responded.

First released in 2006, The holiday is a seasonal product for fans all over the world. The stars Kate Winslet (who plays Law’s sister, Iris Simpkins) and Diaz as two women who swap homes for the holidays after heartbreak. Jac Black costars as Miles Dumont, Winslet’s love interest.

Nothing screams the holidays more than curling up on the couch, grabbing some hot chocolate and putting on a festive movie. Earlier this year, Winslet revealed that Robert Downey Jr. auditioned to play the role of Law and recalled having a “terrible” English accent during his audition.

“It was a hotel room somewhere on the Upper East Side, and Robert Downey had an English accent, but I thought he was speaking Australian,” she said. “I thought, ‘That’s bad. That’s not going to work and who’s going to tell him that sounds terrible.’ … It actually wasn’t that great.”
