Lainey Wilson joins us The voice Season 26 as Playoff Advisor

Lainey Wilson’s journey to country music superstardom began when she was just 9 years old during a visit to the Grand Ole Opry, where she saw an array of artists on the legendary stage in Nashville. It was a light bulb moment and as soon as she got home, Wilson started writing songs and practicing guitar.

“I remember looking up and thinking, ‘Man, I want to do that,’” Wilson said The boot. “When I stepped foot in that circle, it was all over. I just started crying.”

Wilson eventually began performing, including as a Hannah Montana impersonator in high school, and moved to Nashville after graduation to pursue music. In her early years in Music City, she lived in an RV outside a recording studio, where the owner hooked her up to free water and electricity, according to Taste of the country. She also started releasing music even without the backing of a major label.
