Active weather heading into Las Vegas after gusty winds over the weekend

A bit breezy for Formula 1 Saturday evening with winds up to 40 km/h and gusts up to 60 km/h in the Las Vegas Valley! This led to a wind advisory for the valley and the Spring Mountains through Sunday morning. Further west in Clark County and southern Nye County, a high wind warning has been issued with gusts up to 65 mph, causing blowing dust and debris as well as dangerous crosswinds. If you hit the road tonight, be careful!

Tomorrow morning the southerly wind will decrease, leaving a fairly mild day in the area. High temperatures will drop into the mid 60s, with light breezes and mostly sunny skies.

Things start to become more active on Monday as a weather maker moves into Southern California and Southern Nevada. Snow is expected in the southern Sierra and Spring Mountains. Rain chances will move into Las Vegas and the rest of Clark County by Monday afternoon. Monday is expected to be the heaviest day in terms of precipitation, but the wet pattern will continue until mid-week.
