‘Vanderpump Rules’ stars are speaking out after Bravo reboots the show with new cast

It’s the end of an era for Vanderpump Rules.

The VPR original cast members react to the news that they will not return for season 12. Bravo revealed on November 26 that the show is returning with an all-new cast. It followed months of speculation that the series was on the verge of cancellation when the cameras stopped picking up this summer – the usual filming schedule.

“Where to start,” Lala Kent wrote in an Instagram post. “I was a young girl from Salt Lake City coming to LA. I introduced myself as Lauren, but because my childhood best friend called me Lala, my nickname quickly stuck. Sur was a place that became a home. I found myself there not only sipping vodka sodas, but also sitting behind a hostess stand… it’s still to this day the most intimidating job I’ve ever had. A short time later the opportunity to attend a show called Vanderpump Rules landed for me.”

“I have such mixed feelings right now,” she continued. “It’s no secret that I don’t like change. This is the exception. I want to thank you for being with us for so many years. This show changed my whole life. I am incredibly grateful for every moment. I am incredibly grateful to Bravo, NBCU, our crew, the entire cast, and most of all, to all of you. We rocked this bitch until the wheels fell off 💃”

Kent also shared a collection of 20 photos and videos from her time on the show, which she competed in during its fourth season in 2015.

Brittany Cartwright, who first appeared on VPR as Jax Taylor’s girlfriend said in 2015 before becoming a full-time cast member until 2020, “Oh, the memories we made! I love you LaLa ❤️❤️”

Cartwright and Taylor, who are in the middle of a divorce, are now working on a spin-off The Valley. Sources said Kent, along with VPR OGs Scheana Shay and Tom Schwartz will appear during the show’s second season. A release date has not yet been announced.

Katie Maloney, who came along VPR Since the beginning, she has also acknowledged the news and recorded a short but sweet message on her Instagram Stories.

“It’s a mixed bag. But I wouldn’t change a thing,” she wrote alongside a photo of her from the first seasons. “Thank you for the memories and love over the past 11 years.”

Ariana Madix paid tribute to her time on the show with an Instagram post featuring a slew of images featuring some of her VPR costars over the years.

“Vanderpump rules, you will forever be that girl 💖 I was up until 4am looking for the right pictures and the right words but there is no post or caption that could ever sum it all up.” Madix, who was a guest on Season 1 before becoming a regular in Season 2, began her caption. “I am forever grateful to have been a part of such an incredible cultural phenomenon. Thank you @bravo, @lisavanderpump, @evolutionmedia for every experience over the past 10+ years. Thank you to every crew member, producer and our showrunners. You every Seeing summer was like coming home to see family who I will miss dearly, but you guys have my number so…just text me 😂.”

“Thank you especially to the fans. You have been the constant over the last ten years. Your love and support is what I will miss most at the end. You made this show what it is. To the fans who showed up for us , old and new, it’s all thanks to you that we’re here.”

She concluded, “I’m at peace with closing this chapter and excited for everything to come. I don’t know if these were the best days of our lives, but it was definitely something special 💖.”

In the press release announcing the reboot, Lisa Vanderpump expressed gratitude to those who made the reality series what it is today, in a hopeful statement about what’s to come.

“The last twelve years of filming have been an extraordinary series full of laughter, tears and everything in between,” says Vanderpump, 64. “I can’t thank those who shared their lives enough. How I love you all. In the catering industry, one team always makes way for the other. Cheers to the next generation Vanderpump Rules.”

Neither the new cast nor a premiere date for season 12 of VPR has been announced.
