Manchester City predicted line-up vs. Feyenoord: UEFA Champions League

Manchester City desperately needs a win and the next chance comes against Feyenoord in the Champions League.

For the first time in his coaching career, Pep Guardiola must get his team back to winning ways after five consecutive defeats. Manchester City lost games to Tottenham Hotspur, Bournemouth, Sporting CP and Brighton & Hove Albion before suffering a 0–4 defeat to Spurs in the first Premier League match after the November international break.

However, Guardiola’s team is in for a major injury boost in the run-up to the Champions League match with Feyenoord. Although Rodri, Oscar Bobb and Mateo Kovačić will miss Tuesday’s match, Jack Grealish, Kevin De Bruyne and Matheus Nunes are available to perform at the Etihad. Rúben Dias and Jérémy Doku also returned to training, but remain doubtful for the match.

To avoid another defeat, City must come up with a result against Feyenoord, a side that is just one point behind the defending English champions in the UCL competition standings.

This is what City’s team could look like against Brian Priske’s side on Tuesday, November 26.

GK: Ederson—The Brazilian has conceded ten goals in his last three games for City.

RB: Kyle WalkerWith Rico Lewis needed in midfield, Walker will again get the nod on the right flank despite his unimpressive performances of late.

CB: Manuel AkanjiAs Dias continues to recover from a calf injury, Akanji is the man to help City keep their first clean sheet since October 26.

CB: Nathan Ake—Expect the Dutchman to return to the side after Stones was withdrawn at half-time against Tottenham.

LB: Joško GvardiolThe Croatian has not been at his best during City’s recent losing streak, but he is still one of Guardiola’s most reliable defenders on a good day.

DM: Matheus NunesWith Kovačić and Rodri sidelined, Guardiola needs some new faces in midfield, especially after Gündoğan played 90 minutes this weekend. Nunes arrives midweek with fresh legs and three goals to his name.

DM: Rico Lewis—Lewis failed to impress against Tottenham but should find more success against an injury-riddled Feyenoord side.

RW: Savinho—Savinho will be looking to bounce back from perhaps one of his worst performances in a City shirt. The Brazilian is yet to find the back of the net for his new club.

AM: Kevin De Bruyne—De Bruyne may not solve all of City’s problems, but his playmaking skills will certainly create more chances for Guardiola’s men, especially given the midfielder’s chemistry with Haaland.

LW: Jack Grealish—The England international returned from injury against Spurs and should be in action from the start on Tuesday. Despite gifting Tottenham a goal, Grealish is still a much-needed addition to City’s struggling attack.

ST: Erling Haaland—The striker has already scored fifteen goals in all competitions this season, including three in the Champions League.
