Dancing with the Stars Live Results: Updated Scores & Highlights from the 2024 DWTS Finals

After months of hard-fought competition, it’s time to crown the winner of Dancing with the Stars. Five couples earned their chance to dance for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy on Tuesday.

During last week’s semi-finals, the couples were tasked with preparing one ballroom and one Latin dance each, to a style and song of their choice. Former Bachelor leader Joey Graziadei earned his first perfect score of the season with an impressive foxtrot performance, while Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik fell to the bottom of the leaderboard with a cha-cha that fell short.

Amid the heated elimination, hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough announced they would be sending all five couples to the finals. This choice is in line with the show’s 32nd season, but goes against DWTS’ usual trend of keeping only four contestants for the finale.

In the final episode, stars perform a redemption dance to a style they previously learned in competition and a highly anticipated freestyle routine. The scores from the semi-finals will be taken to Tuesday’s final.

Here are the live results and scores from the DWTS season 33 finale.

  • Episode 4: Reginald VelJohnson and Eric Roberts
  • Episode 5: Brooks Nader
  • Episode 6: Phaedra Parks

In a last-second reveal, it was announced that there would be no elimination in last week’s semi-final episode.

How does scoring work on Dancing with the Stars?

The show’s scoring is divided into two categories: judges and audience. During the episode, the three judges each give the dancers a score from 1 to 10.

This season, Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli return as judges. Before the audience votes, the jury awards the dancers a maximum of 30 points. There are some appearances by guest judges and their votes are also out of 10. If a guest judge is present, the maximum points go up to 40.

This is where the scoring can get confusing. It’s not so much about the number of points a dance gets, but how that number compares to the total number of votes awarded by the judges. Let’s say the judges award 100 points throughout the round; Dancer A gets 10 and Dancer B gets 20. Before the audience votes are counted, Dancer A gets 10 percent of the jury votes and Dancer B gets 20 percent.

Let’s say Dancer A received 35 percent of the public vote and Dancer B received only five percent. Dancer A’s final score would have been 45 percent of the votes and Dancer B would have received 40 percent. In this example, Dancer A would advance and Dancer B would be eliminated.

Scoring is the percentage of judges’ votes added to the percentage of audience votes for a total score.

How do you vote for Dancing with the Stars?

You can vote for your favorite dancers via the ABC website or via text messages. During the broadcast, a number will appear on the screen and you can text the dancer’s first name to that number to register a vote.

Normally you are limited to casting a maximum of five votes or the number of participants remaining, whichever is greater. This year you will receive 10 votes per participant, per voting method.

Voting is live only during the original DTWS broadcast in the ET/CT slot.
