McDonald’s is launching a brand new great value menu: here’s what’s on it

Remember the days when we all felt like Dollar Menunaires? It seems like nothing really costs $1 more. It’s been a year since we at McDonald’s looked into customer complaints about this.

But the world’s largest fast food chain has realized the error of its ways. $1 options will once again be on the McDonald’s menu in the new year. Don’t expect to walk out of the Golden Arches and spend just a dollar or two for a full meal. That’s because you have to pay full price for one item to get your next one for just $1.

Last summer, McDonald’s introduced a $5 meal deal. The combo includes a choice of a McDouble or McChicken, plus small fries, a four-piece Chicken McNuggets and a small soft drink. Originally launched as a limited-time offer, the meal has now been extended until next summer.

What’s on the new McValue platform?

Starting January 7, McDonald’s will roll out the McValue platform at locations across the United States. The replacement for the defunct Dollar Menu includes the $5 meal deal, exclusive in-app discounts, local-only food and drink promotions, and the long-awaited return of $1 items!

The Buy One, Add One for $1 menu includes deals on popular breakfast and regular menu items. Here’s the full list:

  • Sausage McMuffin
  • Sausage biscuit
  • Sausage burrito
  • Hash Browns
  • Six-piece Chicken McNuggets
  • Double Cheeseburger
  • McCicken
  • Small fries

“As local small business owners, my fellow franchisees and I always listen to what our customers want from the McDonald’s in their neighborhood,” said Cory Watson, owner/operator of McDonald’s and chairman of National Value for 2025, in a statement. “Regardless of city or state, they tell us how important it is to them to find their favorite meals at affordable prices. And we couldn’t agree more.”

We’re already downloading the MyMcDonald’s app and thinking of ways to expand our McValue menu by millions.
