Vermont’s Ilona Maher Places Second in ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Finals

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont Olympian Ilona Maher and her partner placed second in the finals of “Dancing with the Stars” on Tuesday.

Maher and her partner, pro dancer Alan Bursten, were ousted by “The Bachelor” contestant Joey Graziadei and pro Jenna Johnson after all the judges and viewer votes were counted.

Maher became a social media sensation during the Paris Olympics for her funny TikToks and body positivity content. Her three-month stint on “DWTS” only solidified that follow-up.

The Guardian reports that Maher has said she wants to play for the US in the 15-a-side Rugby World Cup in England next year. On Tuesday night, ABC announced that Maher and Bursten will be part of the “DWTS” tour in select cities.
