The Duke women’s basketball team opened the Ball Dawgs Classic Monday night with its best win of the season, defeating a top-10 Kansas State team thanks to 30 points from junior guard Ashlon Jackson.

Jackson tied a program record with 16 points in the second quarter, making all four of her three-point attempts in that frame to put the Blue Devils ahead. The effort, Jackson’s second 20-point night of the season, contributed to a 73-62 victory that extended Duke’s win streak to four.

The reward for that triumph, however, is a chance at another resume-defining victory. The No. 8 Oklahoma Sooners defeated DePaul 85-62 in the other half of the Ball Dawgs Classic series, setting up a title game for Wednesday afternoon.
