Washington Wizards can get two streaks against Los Angeles Clippers

History would suggest that the Washington Wizards will not beat the Los Angeles Clippers tonight when the two teams face off at Capital One Arena.

The Wizards, who have the league’s worst record at 2-14, have dropped their first 12 games in the month of November. The losing streak has become one of the worst in franchise history and teams are starting to see them fall further and further down the Eastern Conference standings.

The 12-game losing streak is the fifth-longest in franchise history and the third-longest since the team adopted the Wizards nickname in 1997.

The longest losing streak in franchise history is sixteen games, one of which came in the 2009/10 season and the other last year from January 31 to March 8.

The team also wants to break some sort of losing streak that stretches over three seasons. The Wizards have lost 20 games in a row with no rest days, just like they are doing tonight against the Clippers after playing the Chicago Bulls at home last night.

The last time the Wizards won on the second night of a back-to-back was in February 2023, when the team was led by the likes of Kristaps Porzingis and Bradley Beal. They lost their last five such games that season, along with 13 games in 2023-2024. The team then lost its first two games without rest this year.

So the odds are against the Wizards as they host the Clippers, but the plan is for records to be broken and these streaks will eventually end. The question is whether that match will take place tonight or whether it will be postponed a little further.

Tipoff between the Clippers and Wizards is set for 7:00 PM ET.
