On paper, the matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants looks like a Thanksgiving turkey, but it gives the Cowboys a chance at a win against a team looking to close in on the No. 1 pick.

Dallas enters coming off a five-game losing streak and is looking for its first win at home this season. The Cowboys have been shut out in four of their five home losses, but it seems unlikely that a Giants team on a six-game losing streak will add to the list of woes for the home team at AT&T Stadium.

The Cowboys are entering a stretch of games where they are favored or close, and while a run in the playoffs is far-fetched, they could get a little closer to .500. That’s exactly what they need to do this week as a 3 1/2-point favorite.
