Lions hold on to defeat Bears in NFL Thanksgiving Day game: Reaction and analysis

The Bears had all the momentum and cut the Lions lead from 16 points to 3 in the final frame. Detroit had problems in the red zone. His defense was short-sighted. Now was the time to get them. The Bears had every opportunity to hand the Lions their second loss of the season, getting within field goal range on their final possession. But a series of penalties and a decision to go to the end zone with a timeout remaining foiled the opportunity.

Ultimately the Lions will win it, but this was far from their best performance. They didn’t close out the game like normal, but sometimes that’s just the NFL. They are fortunate to win the game and improve to 11-1 for the first time in franchise history. They have won 10 straight games and remain #1 in the NFC. That’s enough for a Happy Thanksgiving.
