Fans are rallying around Dolly Parton’s family after a devastating loss

Fans are rallying around Dolly Parton and her family in the wake of her brother David’s death on Friday, November 15.

“My brother David passed away peacefully this morning,” Dolly’s sister, Stella Parton, shared on

Although Dolly hasn’t posted anything to her own social feeds yet, fans flooded Stella’s post with messages of support.

“I’m very sorry for your loss. My sincere condolences to your family,” said an X user. “My family offers your family our deepest condolences and prayers,” another X user wrote. “Sending lots of healing hugs to you and your family,” someone else commented.

David Wilburn Parton was 82 years old when he died. Although his cause of death has not been revealed, his purpose for life has.

“My brother David was always called ‘Dear David’ because of his kindness, loyalty and soft voice. He was also a United States Marine,” Stella continued in her tribute.

This mention naturally generated even more support from fans far and wide, with many chanting “Semper Fi!” In her comments section.

According to the obituary published on Farrar Funeral HomeDavid worked on bridges all his life. At the time of his death he was a retired bridge builder superintendent living in White Pine, Tennessee.
