BOSTON – Two Cape Air pilots were taken to the hospital as a precaution after the plane they were on was struck by a JetBlue tug at Boston’s Logan Airport on Monday evening.

Cape Air said three passengers and two crew members were aboard Cape Air Flight 5101 from Nantucket to Boston.

According to Massport, a tugboat towing an empty JetBlue plane struck the rear of the Cape Air plane “at low speed.” It happened around 6:15 p.m. Massport said the two Cape Air pilots were taken to hospital as a precaution.

The Cape Air aircraft involved in the incident has been taken out of service for inspection.

The JetBlue tug has been taken out of service and the JetBlue aircraft will undergo a thorough inspection, according to the airline. “Safety is JetBlue’s number one priority and we will investigate this incident,” JetBlue said in a statement.

JetBlue said it has not been notified of any injuries resulting from the incident.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.

Airplanes clip wings at Logan Airport

Earlier on Monday, two planes were operated by American Airlines and Frontier Airlines clipped wings on the tarmac of Logan Airport.

The FAA told CBS News in a statement that the collision is under investigation. The agency said the U.S. plane was a Boeing 777 that was being towed when it hit the Frontier plane, an Airbus A321. According to the FAA, the collision occurred in an area not under air traffic control.
