CeeDee Lamb injury update: Why Cowboys WR was ‘limited’ in second half vs. Giants

As usual, the Cowboys faced the Giants on Thursday in the second Thanksgiving game of the day, but Dallas wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was not on the field the entire time. His first-half performance was forgettable as he was credited with three drops, his highest in a game this year.

His performance in the second half is even more remarkable. After landing awkwardly on a diving catch attempt, he didn’t see the field much. No injury was announced, but when shown on the sidelines he was without a helmet and often twisted his shoulder, seemingly in an attempt to extend it.

Here are the latest injury updates for the Dallas wide receiver.

Is CeeDee Lamb injured?

Officially we don’t know. The assumption is: yes, he is, but the Cowboys haven’t given him an injury designation. However, Lamb did not go to the medical tent. Even the Fox announce team had sideline reporter Erin Andrews inquire about his absence, and she received no information whatsoever.

He’s likely dealing with a painful injury, but Dallas had a two-possession lead when Lamb left the game. He was already recovering from a problem with his right AC joint. The nature of his collision with the grass could indicate that he aggravated that disease.

The Cowboys were likely careful to make sure Lamb didn’t expose his shoulder to more danger. Officially, Lamb simply spent time on the sidelines. Unofficially, he kept favoring his shoulder and moving it back and forth, making it seem like he’s dealing with some kind of ailment, even if it’s only a minor one.

After Thursday’s game, Lamb was seen running into the locker room. It seemed like he was still favoring his right shoulder as he did that.

Dallas owner Jerry Jones seemed to agree with internet sleuths’ assessments that Lamb was felled by some sort of injury as the game progressed.

This post will be updated with relevant post-game comments regarding Lamb.
