Fans cheer ‘phenomenal’ Manningcast call for Falcons’ winning touchdown against Eagles on MNF: ‘Awesome way to watch the game’

Despite recent concerns over low ratings, fans of the sport still seem to be enjoying the ‘Manningcast’ edition of Monday Night Football.

The alternate broadcast of ESPN’s signature football product was featured during Monday night’s game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons.

Brothers Peyton and Eli Manning were joined by a host of guests, including former Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan.

The three retired quarterbacks were all on hand to watch Atlanta mount a strong final drive that resulted in a touchdown with just over 30 seconds left on the clock, winning the game 22-21.

A clip from the final full ride was shared on social media, and fans responded positively to the broadcast.

“This is so much fun to watch!”, one fan wrote on Twitter about the broadcast.

Another said: ‘This is a really great way to watch the game’.

“ManningCast is honestly the best show on TV right now,” said another fan of the show. “It’s awesome to watch 3 top quarterbacks analyze a 2-minute game-winning drive.”

One person who admitted not watching the show said, “I don’t watch this… but I think I’ll start. That was really cool.”

These tweets may be positive, but they come at a time when Manningcast needs viewers more than ever.

According to Sports Business Daily, the show’s Week 1 premiere of the 2024 season reached an all-time low of 872,000 viewers.

That’s a 43 percent drop from Week 1 of the 2023 season and represents just 4.2 percent of that week’s total viewership of 20.5 million.

It also came at a time when ESPN and DirecTV were in a dispute over broadcast rights, but that dispute has since been resolved.
