Here is my Black Friday shopping list

skin care products

Many of our favorite anti-aging products are on sale this Black Friday. But don’t hesitate: these deals aren’t getting any younger. (Amazon)

It’s almost time for the biggest Black Friday deals of 2024, which for many shoppers means a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to score serious savings on expensive tech and home goods (trust me, your uncle’s been waiting all year to buy that Solo Stove ). But for me – a vain, middle-aged beauty editor, soon to be the tender age of 52! – this is the time to get big discounts on all my favorite anti-aging skincare. Seriously, there’s a Black Friday beauty sale to address all my aging woes, from eye bags to a crepey neck to a sagging jaw. I test skin care solutions for a living, and while most anti-aging products are ineffective (or at least… largely overhyped), I also have dozens of these in my arsenal that have made a visible difference in the texture, clarity, firmness, and luminosity of my skin.

Let me be clear: I don’t necessarily expect any beauty product — discounted for Black Friday or otherwise — to turn back the clock. That is (bankrupt) folly. But I try hundreds of products every year, and over time I’ve identified the tried-and-true ultra-hydrating creams, wrinkle-minimizing serums, and puffing eye masks that not only refresh my skin, but also soothe my skin. dehydrated and tired skin in cold weather. When sifting through the plethora of beauty sales on Black Friday 2024, I’m looking for products with quality ingredients that I recognize from skincare brands I trust and with a proven track record of results.

The beauty deals below represent some of my favorite products of all time. Most are clinically proven or at least extremely well reviewed.

This skin-smoothing, color-correcting cream is specifically made for disguising angry, red skin after a pimple (essentially the period between when you pop a pimple and it heals), but I find it works well for redness or dark spots on my skin. face – especially broken capillaries around my nose, my weird red chin and also brownish sun damage.

It has the texture of a lightweight, silky serum, absorbs quickly and leaves areas where you need a “color correction” ready for your regular foundation or concealer. I can’t guarantee it will work as well for your skin as it did mine, but for $6 (half off!) it’s definitely worth a try.

My beloved snail mucin from CosRx is great for evening skin tone and makes your face look softer and brighter overall. It’s won multiple awards, has more than 55,000 five-star reviews on Amazon, and impresses most beauty editors I know.

After using it the first time (here’s my full review), my face was noticeably paler and other users bragged about its ability to hydrate, repair and improve skin dullness – all of which helps make wrinkles appear less deep and crepey looking. When I tried it again this month, after a medi-spa laser treatment, I noticed that it soothed and soothed my skin as it healed, giving it a healthy glow.

I especially like it for my upper lids, where I’ve seen a noticeable difference in texture in just a few weeks.

Do you have a moisturizer that you absolutely love? If not, I would definitely give this award-winning, highest quality “repair cream” a try. We named it one of our best face creams for a reason: it’s dermatologically tested and recommended, good for even the most sensitive skin types, and ultra-hydrating too.

And if you’re one of the millions of eczema sufferers in the US, it’s made with colloidal oatmeal, which instantly soothes skin while protecting and strengthening the skin barrier. This is a generous size for a top product that will last for months – and at this price you can’t beat it.

This Jennifer Aniston favorite serum stick is the ideal delivery system for softening fine lines, prepping skin for makeup and tackling dry patches. This is the cream you need if you’re thinking, “I think tightening creams are BS, but I also want to believe they’re true because I hate my neck right now.” The Gold Bond Firming Cream is no frills, but it gets the job done (the job is tighter cheeks and a less reptilian neck). The formula is lightweight and on the thin side, but the product absorbs well and is gentle enough not to irritate sensitive skin.

Note: You’ll need to use it consistently for about a month to see results, and of course it won’t magically make you look 25, but since you can get this roomy size for less, this product is worth a try.

Albolene’s low-key, no-nonsense hydrating facial cleanser is one of those well-known beauty secrets, a product you’d never think to buy for yourself until a friend says, “YOU HAVE TO GET THIS. IT’S CHANGED MY LIFE.” Well, I’m that friend telling you that this luscious, velvety, mild, fragrance-free cream is about to transform your entire nighttime skincare routine and leave your face a whole lot softer and happier in the process.

The gentle, age-old cleansing product removes makeup effortlessly, without water (although you may choose to remove it with a damp washcloth or cotton pad). It is especially effective for older women who worry about damaging delicate under-eye areas and causing fine lines by scrubbing away mascara and eyeliner. It is also safe for all skin types. Trust me, if you buy it now (for just $10!) it will become a can’t-live-without beauty product on your bathroom shelves and—if you’re a good friend—those of every woman you know.

If I could, I would buy a bottle of CosRx snail serum for everyone I know – it is truly a favorite product, one of the most effective skin care products for smoothing skin, softening skin and lightening dark spots that I have ever tried. But since handing over a bottle of snail slime during a major holiday may seem small but strange, these sheet masks are a quality alternative.

They contain the award-winning snail slime very moisturizing and works for almost every skin type. Users report that they help with skin inflammation and even rosacea, and this 10-pack is a solid entry point into the famous K-beauty line — and the price can’t be beat.
