Attention donut lovers: Starting Wednesday morning, Krispy Kreme Donuts will be giving away a dozen original glazed donuts to the first 500 guests at each participating store, with no purchase necessary.

The Charlotte, North Carolina-based company said the donuts are being given away as part of a global campaign to invite and inspire people to spread kindness on World Kindness Day, which takes place on November 13 every year.

But those looking to get their hands on a free dozen will have to act quickly, as they’ll only be given away to the first 500 guests who visit each of the participating stores in the US.

“World Kindness Day reminds us that we can all have a positive impact on people’s lives, even through small gestures like sharing a sweet treat,” said Dave Skena, Global Chief Brand Officer of Krispy Kreme. “We hope that every dozen Original Glazed donuts we give away will enable and inspire many dozens of small acts of kindness.”

Krispy Kreme operates stores in 40 countries, and many of those stores will be offering some kind of gesture on World Childhood Day.

The company encouraged those lucky enough to grab their 12 free donuts to share their kindness with Krispy Kreme on Wednesday by posting their kindness on social media with #KrispyKreme and tagging @krispykreme.

The giveaway comes just days after the popular donut chain announced the creation of four new donuts inspired by Thanksgiving pies.

The Apple Crumble Donut, for example, is an unglazed donut with apple pie filling and topped with pie crust, buttercream and cinnamon cookie crumbs.

Also coming off the assembly line at each location is the Lemon Creme Pie Donut, also an unglazed donut with blueberry topping, dipped in blueberry glaze and topped with streusel.
