THE LA Lakers have seemingly made a major decision regarding the future of Bronny James.

Bronny, the son of NBA legend and global superstar Lebron James, has played five games for the Los Angeles Lakers so far this season.

The No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft has also made two G League appearances with the South Bay Lakers.

However, Bronny was only seen at South Bay’s home games, staying with the Lakers while the G League team was on the road.

And he’s reportedly been “assigned” to South Bay’s roster for them next two games.

Lakers Nation reporter Trevor Lane wrote on X: “Lakers say they have assigned guard Bronny James and sent Maxwell Lewis to the South Bay Lakers.”

However, it is unclear whether Bronny will feature in the matches as he is currently dealing with a left heel contusion.

Bronny’s move between the Lakers’ active roster and the G League has stunned many, including the former Laker Karel Barkley.

He recently told Audacity Sports: “(It was) terrible. It was so funny, I was actually The Match with Ken Griffey Jr. recording long before the season started.

“He told me he and his dad were going to that first game.

“Then I was with my silly friends later and they said, ‘Do you think Bronny’s going to make the opening day roster?’

“I said there’s a 100 percent chance.

“There’s no way Nike is going to send Ken Griffey Jr. there and Bronny isn’t coming court with his father.

“That’s a Nike commercial waiting to happen.

“I thought it was great, a little ceremony in his first game. But the kid is not ready to play in the NBA yet.

“He should be in the G League so he can play basketball.

“He’s not going to get any better if he’s on the bench. And also this thing where he’s only going to play home games.

“It’s stupid, it’s not fair to him. It’s not fair to the team. Can you imagine the coach of that team?

“You come off a road trip and you have a player you haven’t seen in a week or two. And then you probably feel like you have to play him.

“I don’t think they’re doing Bronny any favors. They just handled this case very poorly.

“It looks bad for the Lakers. I really like everything LeBron has done.

“But it (also) looks bad for him in my opinion.”
