Mike Tomlin doesn’t want ‘Hard Knocks’ cameras to be a distraction for Steelers

With the new season of HBO’s Hard knockswhich features the entire AFC North and falls on Tuesday, December 3, the four teams in the division have had to deal with camera crews following them around all week.

It’s quite an adjustment to start working with camera crews in the middle of the season.

Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin doesn’t want the cameras to be a distraction for his 8-3 team, especially with four AFC North games remaining on the schedule. He takes some comfort knowing that the other three teams – Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns – also face this obstacle.

“For me it’s something to overcome, to be very honest. We can handle it better than the other three teams. That’s how I look at a lot of things that cross my plate, especially when others have to deal with them. ,” Tomlin said Tuesday, via Brooke Pryor of ESPN.

“I’m less concerned about the discomfort of it and more concerned about whether we’re positioning ourselves to perform better in those conditions than the conditions we’re competing against. So it’s something that everyone at AFC North has to deal with, and so Our agenda is to do this better than the other three teams.”

The Steelers face the Bengals this Sunday, the only AFC North game featured on the premiere episode of Hard knocks while the Browns and Ravens play non-division opponents.

Having cameras is something the four AFC North teams will have to deal with as the season plans to premiere throughout the rest of the NFL season and into the playoffs. Right now, the Steelers and Ravens are in the playoffs, while the Bengals and Browns sit outside the top seven.
