Despite fans’ hopes and widespread rumors, Kendrick Lamar‘s latest album does not feature a duet with Taylor Swift.

Lamar, 37, surprised his fans on Friday, November 22, after releasing a new LP titled GNX. The surprising album contains 12 songs with titles such as ‘Wacced Out Murals’, ‘Squabble Up’, ‘Luther’, ‘Man at the Garden’, ‘Dodger Blue’ and more.

None of Lamar’s collaborators are credited on the soundtrack, which was primarily produced by Sound wave And Jack Antonoffboth of whom often work with the 34-year-old Swift.

There were heavy rumors that Lamar and Swift would drop a new collaboration following 2014’s ‘Bad Blood’ and 2023’s re-recorded version. When the Taylor’s version by 1989 fell, the remixed “Bad Blood” – including Lamar’s verse – was included in the lineup.

Taylor Swift dropped her highly anticipated 1989 (Taylor’s Version) at exactly midnight with 21 songs — but Kendrick Lamar’s fan-favorite remixed version of “Bad Blood” didn’t make the final lineup. However, loyal Swifties needn’t worry as Swift, 33, has re-recorded the duet. “Watching how @kendricklamar creates and records his verses on the ‘Bad (…)

“Watching @kendricklamar create and record his verses on the ‘Bad Blood’ remix was one of the most inspiring experiences of my life,” Swift shared via Instagram in October 2023. “I still watch with so much pride and gratitude reflects on this collaboration, for the ways Kendrick has taken the song to the next level and the way he treats everyone around him.

She added, “Every time the crowds continue The Eras tour sang his line “You forgive, you forget, but you never… let go!” I smiled. The reality that Kendrick would go back and re-record “Bad Blood” so that I could reclaim and own this work that I am so proud of is surreal and mind-boggling to me. I’m overjoyed to say that the ‘Bad Blood Remix (featuring Kendrick Lamar)’ is available everywhere on the Deluxe edition from 1989.”

Neither Swift nor Lamar have publicly confirmed whether they have another joint project in the works.

Swift’s fans were shocked that their carefully crafted theories – aided by photos of the pair and Antonoff, 40, together in the recording studio – remained unconfirmed.
