Was Dylan Raiola down by contact or was it a fumble?

Check out Tom Shatel’s three takeaways from Nebraska’s 13-10 loss to Iowa.

Husker Report Card: Grading Nebraska's performance against Iowa

1. So was Dylan Raiola down by contact or was it a fumble?

The officials appeared to rule both before going to replay. Very confusing.

Chalk it up to a call that went against Nebraska.

NU had plenty of opportunities to win this one, but another frustrating moment by Big Ten zebras.

2. Nebraska’s Blackshirts did more than enough to win this game, holding Iowa to 49 yards rushing and 0-for-10 on third down, a goal-line stand that netted only three points.

But one play — a 72-yard touchdown run by Kaleb Johnson that began as a swing pass — was one play too many for the defense.

At least four missed tackles on the play. One play.

That’s this series. That’s frustrating.

3. I’m old enough to remember when Black Friday was special. Not anymore.

Apparently playing on Black Friday is so cool that everyone wants in.

There were 14 college football games on Friday, seven games involving power four teams. Plus, one NFL game, Kansas City-Las Vegas, for the second straight Black Friday.

Don’t think it’s going to stop anytime soon.

I still think Black Friday is good for Nebraska, which helped create this traditional football day. And playing in prime time at night is good for the program.

But move it back to daytime and it’s just another game. That was never the idea.
