Who will play Georgia Football in the 2024 SEC Championship?

The Georgia Bulldogs’ SEC championship game opponent has not yet been determined, but we know Georgia will play the winner of the Texas A&M-Texas game.

ESPN gives Texas a 77.3% chance to win at Texas A&M, which seems a bit generous. According to BetMGM, the Longhorns are 5 1/2 point road favorites.

Of course, Georgia already has an impressive 30-15 win over Texas this season. The Bulldogs haven’t played Texas A&M since 2019.

FanDuel projects Georgia would be 1 1/2 point favorites against Texas or 9 1/2 point favorites against Texas A&M in the SEC Championship.

“My thoughts are with Georgia Tech,” Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said when asked about the SEC championship. “I mean, it’s a great honor to play in the SEC championship game. It’s probably one of the biggest events in all of sports because the games you play are great matchups. But right now we don’t even know who that is, and I don’t care. My concern is 100% with Georgia Tech.”

Smart and Georgia are playing in a fourth straight SEC championship game. The Bulldogs last won an SEC title in 2022.

“We worry about one game at a time,” Smart added. Georgia plays Georgia Tech on Friday night, so the Dawgs can sit back and watch Texas and Texas A&M battle for a shot at an SEC championship bid.

The 2024 SEC Championship Game will be held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, on Saturday, December 7 at 4:00 PM ET. The SEC title game will air on ABC.
