The 2024 season will be the last of Lawson Craddock’s professional career

The coming months will be Lawson Craddock’s last as a professional cyclist. The American from Team Jayco AlUla has announced that he will hang up his bike at the end of this season and end his career.

“I’m happy to say that 2024 will be my last year in the pro peloton,” Craddock wrote on his Instagram profile. “There are so many people to thank, but none more than my wife and kids. I’m so glad to have them by my side and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

In 2014, Craddock switched to the pros with Team Giant – Shimano. After two seasons, he moved to Jonathan Vaughters’ American outfit Cannondale – Drapac Pro Cycling (now EF Education-EasyPost), where he stayed for another six years before joining Jayco AlUla, where he retires from the peloton after three seasons.

Craddock has made a name for himself as a strong time trialist over the years, winning the American title in 2021 and 2022 back-to-back or finishing 6th at the 2019 World Championships. In addition, the American has proven himself time and again to be a reliable teammate in hilly and mountainous terrain and a dangerous opponent in breakaways in the biggest races, with a third place in a stage of the 2019 Vuelta and a fourth place in the 2023 Tour.
