These teams: Despite speculation he could move to Italy, Billy Gilmour has been given the nod by Fabian Hurzeler and is named in Brighton’s starting line-up, replacing Mats Wieffer, with new signing Georginio Rutter on the bench.

Erik ten Hag plays with an unchanged team from the one he played against Fulham and once again there is no place for Jadon Sancho in United’s matchday squad.

Early team news

Brighton completed the signing of Georginio Rutter this week and given he has already made two appearances for Leeds this season, there is no reason why the French forward should not be included in Brighton’s matchday squad straight away.

Yankuba Minteh was literally sent off with a head injury during last weekend’s match against Everton. He has shown no signs of concussion and has been declared fit to play, but midfielders Solly March and goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen are still sidelined.

Evan Ferguson, Pervis Estupinan, Julio Espinola and Tariq Lamptey are all back in training after injuries, but the likelihood of them playing is slim.

Erik ten Hag isn’t afraid to blame injuries for his team’s shortcomings. Should United lose today, he’ll have plenty of excuses at the ready.

Leny Yoro, Tyrell Malacia, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw and Rasmus Hojlund are all unavailable through injury, while Harry Maguire has just a 50-50 shooting percentage to be fit for today’s game. Joshua Zirkzee could make his first start for United after coming off the bench to score their late winner against Fulham last weekend.

Premier League: Brighton vs Manchester United

The second weekend of the Premier League season kicks off with an intriguing match between Brighton and Manchester United. extreme Hard to say.

Manchester United opened the season with a hard-fought win over Fulham at Old Trafford, while Brighton were much more impressive the following day with a convincing victory over Everton at Goodison Park.

Fabian Wurzeler’s side will enjoy home advantage at the Amex Stadium this afternoon as the Premier League’s youngest ever manager hopes to make it two wins from two games.

He will be no stranger to his opponent’s methods, having played under Erik ten Hag when the Manchester United manager was in charge of Bayern Munich’s reserves. Kick-off is at the Amex Stadium, but in the meantime, keep up to date with team news and the build-up.
