Georgia Tech joked after becoming the first winning team of the American football season on Saturday.

The Yellow Jackets, who defeated No. 10 Florida State 24-21 in Dublin, Ireland, posted a famous LeBron James meme, an EA Sports College Football 25 troll and a shoutout to Sheamus, the WWE wrestler who predicted Georgia Tech would win on College GameDay.

Georgia Tech’s upset of Florida State on Saturday was the perfect start to the college football season. The Yellow Jackets and Seminoles traded blows throughout the game before Georgia Tech kicker Aidan Birr made a 44-yard field goal to take the lead as time expired.

The victory marked the Yellow Jackets’ first top-10 win since 2015, which also came in dramatic fashion over Florida State.

The Seminoles enter the season on the heels of an undefeated regular season marred by a College Football Playoff exit. With a revamped roster headlined by coveted quarterback transfer DJ Uiagalelei, Florida State hoped to start its quest for a CFP bid on a high note, but it will instead need to play its best football the rest of the year to keep its championship hopes alive.

Georgia Tech now wants to make a bid for the ACC Championship and maybe even the College Football Playoff. The Yellow Jackets were seen as a promising team at the beginning of the year, but declaring them a championship contender was a bit of a stretch.

After Saturday’s victory, that idea might not seem so far-fetched.

Georgia Tech returns to the United States next week to face their city rival Georgia State as they look to remain undefeated.
