Will Ivan Toney still be a Brentford player when the team host Southampton next Saturday?

No one seems to know, not even manager Thomas Frank. He left Toney out of the opening game against Crystal Palace due to “transfer interest”, but could use him against Liverpool.

Should the England striker leave next week, he will be leaving with the best wishes of many Brentford fans, having helped establish the club in the Premier League.

“The departure of good players has gotten us where we are now, so we thank him for what he has done and wish him all the best, knowing we have the talent to replace him,” said Ian Westbrook of the Beesotted podcast.
