PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Portland International Airport is expecting its busiest Labor Day flight ever.

According to the TSA, “nearly 270,000 travelers are expected to travel through PDX (inbound and outbound) between Thursday, August 29 and Monday, September 2 – an increase of more than 7% compared to the same period in 2023.”

PDX officials recommend that travelers arrive two hours before their flight, or even earlier if they want to see the new terminal. Additional staff will be on hand to answer questions and help navigate.

Friday, August 30, is expected to be the busiest travel day with over 59,000 travelers visiting the airport.
